Training 40 surgeons in one year

How our Karl Storz application programme changed surgical practice across Punjab

Punjab · 2023

When Karl Storz introduced new HD camera systems and documentation technology, we recognised that equipment alone was not enough. We designed and delivered a structured training programme that reached 40 surgeons across Punjab — from senior consultants to junior residents.

The introduction of Karl Storz's new HD camera and 4K documentation systems presented an opportunity — and a responsibility. Advanced imaging technology only delivers its full diagnostic value when surgeons are trained to use it optimally.

In 2023, we designed a structured Karl Storz application training programme, conducted in partnership with senior application specialists. Over 12 months, we delivered OT workshops and hands-on training sessions at surgical centres across Punjab — reaching 40 surgeons across specialties including General Surgery, Gynaecology, ENT and Orthopaedics.

The programme went beyond basic operation — we covered image optimisation, documentation workflows, troubleshooting and the clinical application of advanced imaging features that many surgeons were not previously aware of.

The result: hospitals that had invested in Karl Storz systems began extracting significantly more clinical value from their equipment. Surgeons who had attended the training reported improvements in procedure efficiency and image documentation quality.
